Are we ready for a world where product roadmaps (some) that once took a quarter can now be completed in weeks? In some cases, even days?
What do you think will happen when software development stops being the long pole in the tent? I’m not exaggerating by much.
Every week, I speak to founders who are using code generation to automate entire classes of development tasks. Today, I watched a demo where an Angular to React conversion happened with 97-99% accuracy in one click. Was told it is similar for JavaScript to TypeScript.
These are the kinds of tasks that used to take multiple quarters or even years. Now, they can be done in weeks, end to end, including planning, corrections and testing.
What does that mean for the future of technology and product development? What happens to the economics of the software business if we shrink one its biggest costs by an order of magnitude?
